Abstract
CHAPPELL and JANSON, Wright State School of Medicine, Dayton, Ohio USA write that ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) chelation therapy has been used for decades in the treatment of vascular disease, either alone or along with other treatments. The authors review (49 references) the history, current evidence of therapeutic efficacy, the potential mechanisms of the action of EDTA, as well as some brief case studies. The authors conclude that EDTA chelation therapy is an effective therapeutic option for treating vascular disease, either in its own right, or in conjunction with standard treatment regimes.
