N Bradbury

Nicola J Bradbury, BEd (Hons) MH,MIIR is a medical herbalist, counsellor  and has trained in bio-acoustic sound therapy, reflexology and touch for health kinesiology. She is a member of the British Herbal Medicine Association and the Unified Register of Herbal Practitioners, abides by the code and conduct of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Today, Nicola offers specialist cancer advice and support, also telephone consultations, cooking and dietary demonstrations, including overnight en-suite accommodation in a beauty spot in mid-Wales, for people seeking a holistic cancer support therapy regime alongside their conventional, orthodox treatments from their oncologist.

Many years ago Nicola sustained multiple injuries as a passenger in a motorway accident. After hospitalization for over one year, her prognosis was life confined to a wheelchair. However, a deep inner conviction that she would be able to walk again became her driving force to seek alternative ways to rebuild her health and regain her mobility. Over the following years Nicola has synthesized these individual healing modalities into a patient-centred, therapeutic approach. Her father’s death from cancer was her motivation to research into complementary support therapy for cancer patients to enable optimum opportunity for healing and quality of life alongside their orthodox protocols with their oncologist.

In 1999, Nicola was diagnosed with breast cancer and suddenly found herself on the patient side of the desk. Wth the support of an understanding oncologist Nicola followed her own immune system therapy regime and holistic therapeutic approach. The following two years saw a significant reduction in her tumour size enabling her consultant to remove the tumour and carry out a successful cosmetic reconstruction. The pathology report showed the tumour to be an aggressive ductal carcinoma that had not progressed to the first lymph node in two years while using the immune support therapy. Nicola regained full health for the following thirteen years.

Nicola viewed her own cancer as an opportunity to reassess her life and goals. She also saw it as a valuable learning experience to become a more empathic practitioner having received and dealt with the diagnosis of cancer.

Today Nicola offers consultations to people wanting to follow the holistic cancer support therapy regime alongside their conventional, orthodox treatments from their oncologist. Guidance fact sheets are available covering areas such as:

  • Environmental changes to make to enhance the immune system.
  • Body care and household products to use to eliminate and avoid further chemical toxicity.
  • Emotional balancing programmes to reduce fear and vulnerability and to give a sense of empowerment and personal responsibility.
  • Immune system enhancing diets, nutritional and herbal regimes to increase strength and energy.

But most importantly, Nicola helps clients to look inside and rediscover the spark and passion for lost hopes and dreams. To reconnect with Nature and to realise we are all connected and part of the greater whole and love is the key. We just have to be open and willing to trust our feelings and intuition, abandon our conditioned fear responses and follow our creative potential in whatever form feels right. Inner happiness can bring about outer health. We all need support sometimes to regain that balance.
