Supporting Complementary Health Professionals 

Complementary Health Professionals (CHP) are the leading experts in Aromatherapy, Massage, Neuroskeletal Re-Alignment Therapy and Reflexology training, supporting therapists, teachers and businesses.  

Qualified therapists can join the association (which has assimilated the AAPA) and take advantage of a wide range of CPD workshops, a comprehensive insurance package and unlimited expert advice. The CHP are recognised by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and our members enjoy exemption from London Licensing requirements.

Prospective therapists will benefit from the modular training package; a blend of on-line distance learning and practical workshops held at weekends in and around London.

Natural Therapeutics run by Carole Preen has CHP accredited diploma courses in Essential Oils and Aromatherapy that can be started at any time as well as online CPD courses for therapists to enhance their practices or upgrade to CHP/CNHC standards.

Julie Quinn's school offers accredited blended learning courses in Reflexology that you can start anytime with practical session tailored to suit as well as reflexology masterclasses to upgrade an existing reflexology qualification to CHP and CNHC standards

Professional Diplomas

Our professional diplomas in Aromatherapy, Therapeutic Massage, and Reflexology all comply to the Core Curricula of the Lead Bodies and the National Occupational Standards. You will be able to join the CNHC as a registered therapist once you qualify with us. We also have other distance and blended (combination of distance learning and practical workshops) learning courses you can take, including Essential Oil Practitioner Diploma and  Neuroskeletal Re-Alignment Therapy Diploma. We are developing many more including blended learning diplomas in Sports Massage and Crystal Healing Therapy and distance learning courses in Stress Management and Nutrition.

Each of the full diplomas above can include a level 3 diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology if you do not already hold a recognised qualification in this subject and this can be done entirely through distance learning along with our excellent support materials. You will take an examination in order to achieve this important part of your therapy diploma. Alongside this, you can undertake the theoretical parts of the therapy training at home with our support materials. You will have  personal tutor who you can contact by email for support and advice who will also mark all of your work. All of your work will be completed and marked electronically and you will receive timely and detailed developmental feedback on each stage of your studies. For each of the diplomas, you have up to two years to complete, so this helps you to work at your own pace. Some will do the work quickly and others need to spend more time. In order to comply with Lead Body requirements for your practical training, you will attend workshops during your period of study. These will  be held in Central London and will be at weekends or block weeks. You will only pay for a module or workshops as you book, so this gives you the flexibility to book when it suits you and your finances and means that you are paying interest free by instalments.

Practical exams will be held twice a year and you will be observed carrying out a treatment. You need to bring your case studies and reflective notes carried out as part of your studies and you will be interviewed by an examiner who will quiz you on the treatments you have given. Once you have successfully passed the exam, you will be awarded your diploma and be able to join the association.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

We have a wide range of CPD opportunities available each year. Once you have booked, we will email you confirmation of the venue in central London about a week in advance, plus travel information to get there.

Here you will find the full list of distance and blended learning courses on offer. Where applicable these courses follow the National Occupational Standards and Core Curriculum for the therapy. All are certificated and come with a printable syllabus. Blended learning includes theory modules which you do at home online and practical workshops in London, learning the practical therapy skills. Easy pay as you go modular system. Study in your own time, at home and at your own pace.
