Dr Carole Gilling-Smith,  Consultant Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist, is the CEO, Medical Director and Founder of the Agora Clinic. Graduating in Medicine from Cambridge in 1984, she was awarded a PhD for her research on the genetics of polycystic ovary syndrome in 1997. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a renowned expert in fertility and reproductive medicine. Carole is a leading advocate for inclusive, patient-centric fertility care in the UK who is dedicated to ensuring that individuals from all backgrounds, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, health, or financial status, have equal access to fertility services and receive the very best emotional support combined with medical expertise throughout their parenting journey. A visionary in her field, in 1999 she developed the UK's first fertility program for HIV-infected patients and continues to fight for equality in the NHS funding of fertility care. She is also an entrepreneur and innovator who has built a robust model of independent NHS and private IVF healthcare at the Agora Clinic which she founded in 2007, based on a strong leadership and values ethos and an adaptive strategy to fluctuations and opportunities within the IVF industry.
