As we publish Positive Health PH Online Issue 254, I cannot recall a more bad-tempered, polarized, hostile, aggressive public and political atmospheric tone across the globe - UK, USA, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa. Just a few examples include the Christchurch mosque shootings killing and injuring 100 people, the coordinated suicide bombings on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka, killing hundreds of worshipping Christians, the seemingly intractable military standoff in Libya, the Gilets Jaunes riots in Paris, Extinction Rebellion Climate Change demonstrations, the synagogue shooting near San Diego on the last day of Passover.  The weather has not been gentle either with Mozambique hit by cyclones Idai and Kenneth. So, not a very good-natured, harmonious time.

Regular readers of PH Online will be familiar with its raison d’être – that of providing authoritative information about alternative / complementary / natural healthcare approaches as well as to attempt to bridge the seemingly ever-growing yawning chasm between conventional, orthodox / allopathic medicine and alternative / complementary medicine.

I commenced this journey some 25-30 years ago with a focus upon natural treatment approaches to cancer and publication of the consensus document Nutrition and Lifestyle Guidelines for People with Cancer and more latterly with My Experience of Publishing Positive Health PH Online for >22 Years.

Despite huge strides made in our understanding and effective clinical treatment of cancers with nutritional, herbal and other complementary approaches, on the most recent documentary tour of Truth About Cancer: Eastern Medicine: Journey Through Asia, the majority of physicians and oncologists from Japan, Taiwan, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and India stated that officially and legally they are only permitted to treat cancer using standard orthodox medical therapies, i.e. surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. This is the same situation as in the UK and much of the USA. The chasm between the divided world of orthodoxy and natural medicine continues.

If it’s possible, there is an even deeper divide – even war perhaps between the World Health Organization, the FDA, US CDCPublic Health England and NHS England and the public - parents of children – on the subject of measles outbreaks and vaccinations. There are fundamental issues which need to be explored, discussed and shared in an open and transparent manner – not with threats - regarding vaccine safety so that doctors, the public and scientists can legitimately question the claims of absolute safety of vaccine without fear of reprisals. Here are just a few of the issues:

  • Potentially toxic Ingredients within the vaccines;
  • The number and schedule of vaccination injections given to infants and children;
  • The length of herd immunity supposedly conferred by vaccinations;
  • Discrimination between actual measles infections and those side effects due to live virus shedding  after-effects of vaccinations;
  • Randomized controlled research trials with the correct controls and placebos demonstrating that the vaccines in question are indeed safe.

PH Online has endeavoured to responsibly provide a forum to air legitimate queries and concerns regarding vaccinations which have been widely published in numerous forums and books including review of How to End the Autism Epidemic by JB Handley, ANH URGENT Alert: Feds Aim to End Vax Exemptions, ghostshipmedia Measles, Measles, Everywhere! reproduced in Letters to the Editor Issue 254:

“2019 is proving to be the year of the reign of measles terror. In January, it was reported that infected children were milling about the international airport in Portland, Oregon. Neighbouring Washington declared a state of emergency a mere 10 days later when 31 cases of measles had been reported in the state. This week, five states were dealing with outbreaks and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed 314 cases across the nation – almost half the high of 667 cases in 2014.

“Clearly, according to the united mainstream media, 'anti-vaxxers' are responsible for returning this measly plague from 'near extinction'. As one commentator said, parents who do not ensure that their children get the bare minimum of 23 needles by age five are the moral equivalent of  'drunk drivers' –  a menace to everyone on the public highway who should 'opt out of society'. Following this vein, one New York county took the extraordinary measure this week of instituting a ban on unvaccinated children in public spaces. Violators will be fined $500 and face up to six months in prison if they dare let an unvaccinated child step outside her home in Rockland County, a mostly Orthodox Jewish community north of New York City where 153 cases of measles were reported.”

Dr Mercola has published an authoritative and referenced article Portions of Measles Outbreaks Are Due to Vaccine Reactions and Not Wild Measles Virus:

“When you hear about reported cases of measles, did you know that a portion of those affected may be experiencing a reaction to the live virus measles vaccine?

“In a Journal of Clinical Microbiology paper,[1] researchers describe new technology developed to 'rapidly distinguish between measles cases and vaccine reactions to avoid unnecessary outbreak response measures such as case isolation and contact investigations'." According to this paper:

"During the measles outbreak in California in 2015, a large number of suspected cases occurred in recent vaccines. Of the 194 measles virus sequences obtained in the United States in 2015, 73 were identified as vaccine sequences."

“In other words, about 38 percent of suspected measles cases in the 2015 Disneyland measles scare in California were actually vaccine-related and not caused by transmission of wild-type measles.”

Returning to PH Online Issue 254, the editorial features demonstrate what I envisage as a harmonious, well-rounded and full spectrum of articles encompassing the Mental / Spiritual / Emotional, informative articles exploring Sleep and Insomnia, the Biodynamic Botanic Garden at Emerson College, Vegans and Protein, a technically challenging yet vital vaccination article When Vaccine Refusal is Not Unethical and Bodywork features about Touch, Back Pain and Yoga. The Letters to the Editor cover a range of topics including vaccination, leukaemia and medical consent and Research Updates are about acupuncture, Alzheimer’s and dementia, cancer, colon health, diabetes and essential fatty acids.

I invite all PH Online readers to thoroughly enjoy the diverse presentation of features in Issue 254 in the honest anticipation that this non-aggressive style will foster harmony rather than acrimony.
