The real cause of BSE!!

I wish to congratulate you on the splendid article in Positive Health May/June issue, by Dr Helen Fullerton. What courage you and she must have to present the real evidence as to the actual cause of BSE - O.P. Poisonous chemicals. That the Government is culpable of dishonesty to say the least, there can be no doubt. They are clearly desperately attempting to wards off penurious litigation by farmers and their families injured or billed by exposure to this noxious chemical when they were required by law to treat their animals with it. In the case of cattle, this applied only in certain specified areas.

No wonder the Germans do not want our beef. They make the damn stuff and knew, long before we did what it could do. The worst of it is, similar chemicals are still approved for use on crops – and come down the food chain, unchanged. The Ministry of Agriculture claim to be the health watchdog for us all, regarding food products, yet these poisons are still allowed and safe commodity chemicals are prevented from reaching the market by the MoA’s intransigence on the type and quality of evidence which is acceptable in order to get a product requested. It is nothing more or less than a certain way of keeping such commodity chemicals off the market on behalf of the chemical companies.

We are not safe with the MoA or indeed, this Government. I only hope that if Tony Blair does get in he will ensure that a Food Directorate, separate from the MoA and not dominated by industry will be established.

Bodily wear and tear

Tiredness comes from pain and pain comes from realisation of material damage i.e bodily wear and tear.  This organic destruction leads to a vacuum at muscular and cellular level, and an energy concentration at the mental level.

Physical methods to relieve this pain and disperse the negative energy surrounding the joints and bodily musculature, include Yoga and massage. One I have personally stumbled upon works on the basic energy level and involves reversing power flow from inwards to out.  All you have to do is stand in front of a mirror and look at your outer self i.e. the body, without blinking and without concentrating. This leads to a state of mindlessness or an emptying out of energy from the body as mindfulness causes the opposite to happen:  It’s as simple as that - cause and effect in Humanities two main equal but opposite abilities of thought (taking pains to stay alive) and action (blissful release from awareness of this world and responsibility in it).

Not so Bizarre Bazaar!!

Obviously Leon Chaitow has been to the same “Health” shows as myself. In an attempt to be fair to some of the Organisers we have to ask the question of whether or not they are in truth portraying them as “Heath” shows, or are we just expecting them to be so as there aren’t any others.

The fact is, as Leon Chaitow quite rightly points out, there doesn’t seem to be a readily accessible forum in which Complementary Health can display its attributes in an ethical, professional and educational environment. Many people I have spoken to feel it is important to have an annual event at which practitioners, therapists and the general public can meet each other and at the same time meet representatives of the various Associations and Governing Bodies.

So why doesn’t someone organise such an event? Over the last few years a few have tried and failed. Lack of support, they say. Could it be that certain influential people within Complementary Health are not prepared to support such an event just because it is the first of its kind? Surely not, for if the first one is not given a fair chance there won’t be a second, then where does the blame lie?

Unconditional sponsorship may be the answer, but wouldn’t it be better to see an unbiased show where there was no sponsorship whatsoever. Believe it or not, it is possible to produce a balanced and professional event without the need to attract the more commercial element. Of course, this is providing that enough of the people that are in a position of influence actually support it. I should know, as that is exactly what I am trying to achieve with The Complementary Health Show. So far we have had, in the main, tremendous encouragement and have managed to attract many of the professions, although to date we have some notable exceptions. Unfortunately these happen to be Osteopathy, Naturopathy and Chiropractic. What a shame that Michael van Straten will be flying the lone flag on behalf of Naturopathy. I am sure Leon Chaitow has feelings on this.

Of course, the event can only be deemed a success provided people attend. It would be gratifying if support would be forthcoming for a genuine attempt at creating an educational forum for all those interested in accumulating practical, professional, ethical advise from experts and not just a carrier bag full of glossy brochures.

Please support us at The Barbican Centre, London, on 20th, 2 1 st, 22nd September 1996, from 10-30 am to 6-30 pm. daily.
