The Heart in Healing by Sue Green As comple- mentary medicine becomes more and more established and able to hold its own with proven research showing its effectiveness, there is perhaps room to ask the question, what heals?

A Healing Story by Leo Sofer Leo is an intuitive storyteller. Each story he tells begins with a question spoken out loud, alone or in front of an audience. The stream of pictures (in his mind's eye) and words (spoken by his 'inner voice') that he receives in response gives him all the information he needs to tell a story, although he is rarely able to guess what is coming next. This story was told in response to a commission from Positive Health magazine on the subject of 'Health and healing'.

The Elimination Diet: A Foolproof Way of Diagnosing Food Intolerance by Linda Gamlin First things first: let’s be clear about what food intolerance is, or rather, what it is not. It is not food allergy (and it does no one any good to confuse the two conditions).

Allergies and the Mid-Life Crisis by Dr Diana Samways MB BS “I have dieted for years, why can’t I lose weight?” This is among the most common heartfelt cries uttered by my patients, together with complaints of food cravings, fluid retention, bloating (usually getting worse by evening), joint pains, mood swings and depression, ‘Irritable bowel syndrome’ and ‘recurrent cystitis’ or ‘hormonal problems’, these last having been labelled by doctors who are unaware of the correct diagnosis and treatment required.

Hsing-I is an ancient art of fighting and healing that tunes the mind and body to a finely-honed degree. It is said to have been developed during the period of the Northern Sung dynasty (AD 1127-1276)

Adaptive Eye, The by Peter Duthie The human eye is believed to have evolved out on the plains of Africa, with distant horizons, bright natural light giving a small pupil size (and without paperwork), it could keep itself perfectly adapted to its environment. Today we spend our time indoors with relatively poor light. These factors conspire together to deny our eyes the opportunity to recover on their own. A little understanding of the processes involved can help us to guide our eyes back towards normal unaided vision

Moving Through Depression by Maggie Baker This author was diagnosed with depression at the age of forty. She felt that she had spent her adulthood lurching from one crisis to another, including a disastrous marriage and a business on the verge of bankruptcy.
